To My Treasure on his First Birthday!

AFter following my Cousin in Law for a few years and reading her letters to her sons on there birthday I was inspired to do the same. My plan is to print them out every year and put them in a book for the boys to have when they are all grown up.



To My Treasure on your very First Birthday

Let me start by saying you are my heart. You don't realize it now but you have me completely and totally wrapped around your fingers, toes and whatever else you can get. Your daddy and I waited so long for you that when it was time for you to come you actually made us wait 4 days longer! I however couldn’t wait any longer and made you come on out of my tummy so you could spend your days being cuddled and loved on. I look forward to our morning cuddle sessions. Sometimes they are shorter than others but I make sure every morning no matter what that we have a few minutes of mama and Braxton (daddy is allowed to join in from time to time hehe) time to just love on each other and give kisses and hugs. I think secretly you love this time too because you always wake up with a big smile on your face. I love that about you, how happy you are all the time. I also love how you watch people. Everywhere we go you are intently watching people studying them, it’s very intriguing to me. You’re also very aware of new people and stay very quiet and reserved until you get to know them, I love that even more. You make them work for your attention and that’s awesome in my eyes. I will have to say one of my most favorite things of all is how excited you get at NEKKID TIME (bath time) your eyes get really big and you start to grin and giggle and it just makes me laugh, especially when daddy gets you ready.

I was so scared to bring you home, I didn’t think I would know what to do once we got there but you made that pretty simple, feed you! You’ve been good ever since. Your such a good baby it’s almost scary. You rarely every cry or throw a fit, unless you want something to eat then you let me know in that special way. You love your daddy so much its ridiculous (again in a good way!) You know when it’s time for him to come home and when he gets there seeing your face light up as you crawl/walk to him just makes my heart melt. I love to watch yall walk in the field; you are strapped to his chest in a carrier, each with a stick in your hand and your baseball cap on. You look so much like him its crazy. You have my temperament though. You are super sweet and loving and such a calm relaxed baby. Everyone that meets you instantly falls in love with you and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Brax, I could not have asked for a better little boy and I am so very thankful for you every single day. You truly are my Treasure and God knew exactly what he was doing when he gave you to me. I cannot wait to see what’s in store for you this coming year. You have a little brother on the way and I just know you are going to love him like no other. I can’t wait to see yall playing in the front yard with your daddy. I am so blessed to have you and I hope you never get tired of me giving you kissed and hugs, because if you do I believe I might just cry. I love you my angel and I am going to make sure that you always know that. I am always here for you. Thank you for being such an amazing little man.
